Leisure boats is a collective body of individuals loving powerboats, water and a healty need for speed and racing. Our sport consist of family boats which have been modified and altered to partake in powerboat racing. We have a standard team comprising a driver and observer. Our racing is covered in different classes allowing the serious petrol heads and the moderate family men, women and children to compete in an annual series for trophies and bragging rights. Teams earn points per event in the different classes which accumulates to the end of year champions being crowned in each class.

We mainly do circuit racing as well as long distance racing or longhauls as we call them. A circuit event is contested over three heats with each heat made up of between eight and twelve laps depending on the length of one lap. Longhauls are contested as a single race covering between 90 kilometers and 140 kilometers. Teams fund their own craft and related expenses to take part in the sport. We currently race mainly in the Gauteng area to keep cost down. The full calendar can be viewed on this site and will show where and when we compete. This year will see us race in other provinces in the combined effort of all associations in PBRSA to take the sport accross provincial borders.

All our events are broadcasted on Supersport in the program Off The Jetty. The program generally aires 3 weeks after the event took place with at least six repeat shows. This is the perfect spot to view what we do and what the sport is all about. We are continiously looking for sponsors to assist in the cost of events and also to assist our efforts in developing the sport.
